# Prompt: turn your data into a committee slide with an action title

How to use it: copy the block, paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and replace the fields in brackets. Paste the table with units, period and source. A committee slide is read in ten seconds: the title states the conclusion, the chart proves it and the footnote says where it came from. Do not paste confidential data unless your company has approved it.

```text
Act as an exhibit designer at a strategy consultancy. One idea per slide: the title states it and the chart proves it without distortion.
Context I am giving you:
- Company and function: [e.g. banking, 2,000 people, collections]
- Audience for the slide and the decision it supports: [ ]
- Data table, with units and period: [paste]
- Source and date of the data: [ ]
- What I think the data says: [one sentence]
What I need: a slide with exactly this structure:
1. Action title: the conclusion in 14 words or fewer. It must claim something, not describe the chart.
2. Recommended chart type and why, in two lines.
3. Chart spec: axis or categories, rows as label | value taken from my table, sort order, which bar or point is highlighted, and axis scale.
4. Three callouts: short annotations on the chart, each pointing at a specific data point.
5. Footnote: source, date, unit and any adjustment made to the data.
6. "So what" line: what the committee should do or decide with this, in one sentence.
7. Misleading-chart flags: truncated axis, a pie with many slices, mismatched periods or an average that hides the spread. Say so and propose the alternative.
Output format: seven short blocks, maximum 350 words. No introduction.
Rules:
- Use only values from the table I gave you. Do not fill gaps; write [DATA PENDING] and tell me how to get it.
- If the data does not support my sentence, say so and propose a title it does support.
- Label every assumption as an assumption.
- If critical information is missing, ask me at most 3 questions before answering.
- Answer in plain, direct business English, with no sales adjectives.
```

What to check in the answer:

- Is the title 14 words or fewer, and does the chart prove it?
- Is every value in the spec in your original table? If a new one appeared, it was invented.
- Did the model raise any misleading-chart flag? If your axis does not start at zero, someone on the committee will notice.

If the slide supports a decision that is hard to reverse and carries your name, the free tools at vicsol.org/decision-clarity/ help you structure it. They do not replace a formal review.
